Blast from the past
I was cleaning out my music collection today — well actually trying to make some order of the CDs with and without plastic cases.
Among the bric-a-brack, I found an old 45-rpm record I’d forgotten about.
Picture this: it’s 1972 (or thereabouts) and our music teacher is a hip-hop happening young guy for the time. I seem to remember his hair may have even covered his ears, that’s how cool he was.
I never took any of the music classes but within band and choral, he had special “groups” he personally supervised.
Rhonda Stovin, Marie Achzner, Bonnie Austring and Dana Osterhout formed The Age of Innocence.
These young girls sang pop songs in four part harmony. They were always a crowd pleaser at any school concert.
I converted a couple of songs from the old 45 vinyl recording to an mp3 file. It’s not “digitally remastered” but still sounds not bad 36 years later.
Brought back lots of high school memories that’s for sure.

I’m reminded of a South Park ep. that had Cartman singing The Getto song.

I’m reminded of some old gospel albums we have from youth choirs. Makes me want to hook up the turntable.
