The party may be on Saturday, but my best friend’s birthday is today. Happy, happy Birthday Faye!

Although we agreed many years ago to not give each other presents, of course we just give each other “non-presents.”

I bet you have a friend who you search and search for something special. Yesterday, the day before Faye’s birthday, I stumbled upon a gift I know I would like to receive. So Faye, here’s my non-birthday present to you. I like it and I hope you do too.

Ta-da — inside the satin-lined box is a crystal candelabra with subtle black accents. Very au courant said the clerk in the store. Frankly, it may have been the box that sold me on buying it.

I can be such a “Nervous Norman.” I had nightmares this non-present might just be a bit too “Liberace-ish.”

So here’s a Liberace photo for comparison. Yup, I think my candelabra choice is far more elegant than Liberace’s (even though his might be gold but who cares!)

I just had to compare candelabras with the candelabra queen of all time. I still think my crystal candelabra non-present outdoes Liberace's any day.
