Cedar greying with age
This week’s theme is WOODEN. The fence around my yard is wooden — actually it is 20-year old cedar planking that hasn’t been weatherproofed or stained.
I like this time of year in Vancouver as most of winter has passed and with March on its way, the garden is starting to perk up. Cedar is a popular type of wood used here in Vancouver because it wears well with all our rain. I don’t bother weather-proofing or staining the cedar around my house because I like the greying effect the weather has on the wood.
Here’s a panorama shot of my little garden at the end of the season last year. I’ve lots of plans to terrace and plant new things this year. Hope I get around to doing them!

Hey Larry, you’ve your PhotoHunt up early! And I’m commenting.
This has to be a first for me - I’m always trailing around lat (not that long since I finished last week’s comments!)
I love the look of your garden. I agree about winter mess - can’t stand tidying up either, as I don’t like gardening in wind and rain. Impossible in the snow you get, too. Ah well, spring’s on the way.

Lovely garden. Although I’ve been itching to, I haven’t done anything with the Lair since I moved here. Perhaps this season I’ll have the time/energy to split the hostas and replant them.
BTW, dear I’m supposed to tell you that I’ve tagged you on my blog.
