As much love as I can take
This week’s theme is FREE. This is a favourite picture of me and my neighbour’s dog Maxine.
Maxine stays at my place during the week while her owner is at work. I took this picture last May in my backyard. I was feeling a little blue because that day was the sixth anniversary of my mother’s death.
Maxine hopped up onto my lap and snuggled her head under my chin. She’s always known when I need some attention. The best thing about Maxine is that all that love and attention she shares is totally free.
She has no expectations, no hidden agendas, no ulterior motives. All she asks is for you to return that love just as freely as she does — and maybe give her a good, long scratch behind the ears but that’s not asking for much in return I think.

Ohhhhhhhhhhh, Larry, Maxine is the best isn’t she!?!! Adorble, and loving. I totally agree with you about a pet, a friend of fur, is the best and giving unconditional, free, love!!! They’re the best.
This is a great entry for the subject this week.

Maxine is lucky to have found you. Sometimes animals are better than people as what you’ve mentioned above.
thanks for the visit.

That’s exactly why I love dogs so much. Even when you scold them, they still seek you out for a cuddle and a belly rub. I have two chihuahua-rat terrier crosses named Lucy and Desi and they are my little loves. Whenever I’m blue, they are the best thing for my heart.

Dogs are wise like that. Anniversaries are hard. Not much one can say at times like that.

What a sweet dog. It’s amazing how pets can somehow sense our feelings.
