Getting to know other bloggers
The Blog Interrogation wasn’t as scathing as I thought it might be.
Lucky for me Ed, the editor of The Pisstakers, is in the midst of a move. Perhaps the lack of time on his end was the saving grace for me.
I admit I was initially reluctant when I was asked to submit my five answers to five questions about my blog. The questions are reasonable. My responses were verbose which to those who know me is not a great surprise.
Here’s my recent post about The Pisstakers weblog if you want some background context to my disconnected entry today.
Coincidentally, Ed posted this entry in response to a blogger who commented about Ed’s Blog Interrogation category. It’s well worth the read as some bloggers might have reacted defensively. Ed takes the time to reflect and write about the purpose of his blog rather than launch the typical defensive blogger rant at any hint of criticism.
If you haven’t checked out blog review sites, I’d suggest you take a gander at italk2much — while the site is in redevelopoment, here’s a flavour of how they review sites.
Sassy Sadie took the opportunity to slice and dice this blog.
Objectively, Sassy Sadie isn’t far off the mark in her review. Like any shock-jock, the language and sheer bitchiness wears thin fairly quickly for me. But don’t forget, these blogs submit their sites for review so perhaps they need a good slap upside the head just for sheer stupidity in submitting themselves to a verbal pounding.
What’s my point in this rambling entry? Perhaps it’s just that I’d like to think there are more Pisstakers out there than italk2much-ers.
Irony and sarcasm are powerful writing tools. Anyone can write crude and scathing remarks. It takes a talented writer to slap a fellow blogger’s wrist with wit and humor.
