This Saturday’s theme is Childhood. My siblings will likely yell at me for using these photos. Birth order is a fascinating part of any family dynamics. I could go on and on about being the fourth boy etc. etc. But will let the photos tell the story instead.

Usually we lined up for photographs with the “big guys” Bob and Don in the back; my brother Mike and I in the middle; and my youngest and only sister Brenda in the front and/or seated in the front.

Here’s a sample of the five of us and how we aged in place over the years.

Oh, I think birth order has a lot to do with family dynamics. I am the oldest and that ain’t all it’s cracked up to be either. :)

Your family is just like my Dad’s. He and his brother, Lewis are the oldest and only 18 months apart. Then a few years and Jerry and John came about the same 18 months apart. Then last, when dad was about 12 his little sister Mary Kathryn. Dad was the first to marry… and we have been celebrating 50th wedding anniversaries like crazy. Mom and Dad’s in 2001, John and Jerry’s both last year in June and October and now Lewis’s at the end of May this year. Mary Kay’s won’t be for another ten or so years.

    Does birth order really matter?

My dad was the youngest of four kids. The only sister was the oldest and then there were two other brothers. Great childhood pictures of your family. Thanks for stopping by and have a great weekend.
