Gobal Baby burning down the house
Global Baby is the latest CD release by my friend GreenTaRA.
You can listen to tracks off her new CD and purchase a copy at cdbaby.com
What type of music does she write, arrange and perform? Here’s how Tara explains it: “Soul-Funk-Jazz-Reggae fusion - laced with kickin’ vocals, bangin’ bass, horns, strings and consciously delicious lyrics.”
‘Nuff said.
Not that I’m biased (but I am), GreenTaRA lives up to her billing as “one of the Pacific Northwest’s finest independent gems.”
She’s performed at the United Nations in NYC, Canadian Music Week in Toronto, Fete de la Musique in Berlin, the WCMAs in Winnipeg, the Baltimore Music Festival, Frostbite Music Festival in the Yukon and the Vans Warped Tour among international engagements.
“With the sass of both Jill Scott and Alanis Morrissette” (NOW Magazine), this award-winning artist brings a fresh brand of soul music to the world stage.
She has shared the stage with Spearhead’s Michael Franti, K-os, Jully Black, K’naan, Kelis, Big Sugar and Medusa among others, and has opened for legendary artists such as De La Soul and Little Richard.”
I’m hip hop hopping dancing round my house listening to GreenTaRA’s new CD, Global Baby.

She sounds good. But not the type of music I’m really into. But that doesn’t mean I dislike what she does. She really does sound good. Her voice is nice.
