Plugging parking meters

I recently parked in downtown Vancouver at a parking meter. Who knew meter rates had gone ballistic?

Here comes the “I remember when” moment– but I do remember when nickels and dimes were sufficient. Now the meters don’t even take anything less than a quarter.

The cost for me to park for 15 minutes downtown: $4 - count them loonies people. How much are parking rates where you live?

[Note: I make occasional guest blogger entries on Scott's Blog Experience. He recently posted an entry on Peoria trying to get illegal parkers to cough up for tickets. You can find my guest blogger rant about Vancouver parking rates on Scott's Blog.]

    Yikes! $4 for fifteen minutes!!??

It’s been awhile since I’ve had to use a parking meter, so I’m not sure what the cost is around here.

PS: You know what I hate?

Seems your blog doesn’t like comments longer than one paragraph.

Yikes - have to check out what’s going on. All four of your comments were in the spam bin — but there’s nothing I can see that should have kicked them out. Thanks for your patience - it’ll help me try to fix it.

I think what’s doing it is the e-mail address you’re using when you comment. When I sent an e-mail to that address, it was bounced back as undeliverable as well.

The meters near me in Atlanta are almost that bad but they only charge during business hours.

I eat at a 24 hour diner in the most expensive part of town for parking but I’m always there at three in the morning so I don’t have to plug the meter.
