Roadside attractions: Canuck-style
[Click on the photos to read the captions about where and what are my favourite LARGE Canadian roadside attractions.]
Stretching 7,821km (4,857mi), The Trans-Canada Highway is young compared to the highways of our southern neighbour.
I’ve travelled from Victoria, BC as far as Montreal, Quebec on the Trans-Canada. I can assure you there are some large and interesting roadside attractions along that route.
Some of the attractions may be a bit off the good old Trans-Canada, but you can see all 811 roadside attractions in this collection.
Some are simply bizarre — even by goofy Canadian standards.
The Trans-Canada Highway quick facts:
- Length: 7,821km (4,857 mi)-South route
2,960 km (1,838 mi)-Yellowhead - Formed: 1962
- Direction: West-East
- From: Victoria / Prince Rupert
To: St. John’s - Major cities: Victoria, Vancouver, Calgary, Edmonton, Regina, Saskatoon, Winnipeg, Ottawa, Montreal, Quebec City, Charlottetown, Fredericton, Moncton, St. John’s
