Almost past the velvet rope

b-list

I’ve outed myself! My Bloglebrity level is that of a B-Lister.

For one such as me who cares naught about ranking, my ego bloated just a tad to find out I ranked as a B-List Blogger. Wait a minute, is that sort of like being a Grade-B movie star?

Find out here whether your blog is A-List or way down on the scale of D-List Bloggers.

During the last few days of debate on the importance of content links and Technorati rank measurement filtering out chain link endeavours, I initially gulped when I saw the ranking used Technorati.

Ever fearless, I plugged my URL into the input box, closed my eyes and hit enter. I grabbed the B-List button code so fast I thought I’d hurt myself from the speed at which I selected, copied and pasted that code right here.

How is it done? Here’s Kineda’s explanation.

vanity

“(I was) inspired by Dave Sifry’s State of the Blogosphere (and created) the Technorati-Powered widget (that) computes your bloglebrity status based on four influential groupings.”

walters

I’m still in the dark as how this widget does it magic but then I’m often in the dark about lots of things.

But back to me and my ego, as a B-Lister, I’m not holding my breath Vanity Fair on-line might seek out my prattlings for inclusion.

Nor, to I think anytime in the near future I’ll hear the bing-bong of incoming e-mail from Barbara Walters urgently needing my response to the girls current Hot Topic.

stewart

I have been invited to go to the upcoming Rod Stewart concert March 10 if that means anything at all.

According to Kineda’s rankings, these are the characteristics I hold as a B-Lister.

The High Authority Group [B-List Bloggers]
(100-499 blogs linking in the last 6 months)
The third group represents a decided shift in blog age while not blogging much more frequently than the last. In keeping with the theme of the maturation of the blogosphere, it seems evident that many of these bloggers were previously in category two and have grown in authority organically over time. In other words, sheer dedication pays off over time.

HMmmm, I say. The definition is vague enough to describe my Bloglebrity. Not yet an A-Lister but then again, who’s checking?

I don’t even want to know as i’m quite comfortable in my z list chair (though higher people rush to defend themselves when I get cranky), where I can pretty much do as I please without anyone having much influence over it. :D

Guess what? I too am a B list blogger just like you. Thank you for finding this not that I care what group I am in. I kind of like being in my own little world. ;-) I did one blogger and found out they were in the A list and I thought thank God as I would not want to be in the same list as her. ROFL. Wow, 500 or more blogs linking in the last 6 months.

Blogebrity maintains another list of blogebrities where you can find other A-list celebrity bloggers. You can submit your link to them too though I was a little concerned with how they have more than 100 links on one page. ;-)
