Jesse Heap has developed one of the best thumbnail/images plugins for Wordpress. I’ve tried many other similar plugins but this one is easy to use while still offering a variety of customization options. All without having to mess around within files.

WP-Highslide is a wordpress plugin that allows you to easily use Highslide (Highslide JS is a brilliant thumbnail viewer written in javascript) by automatically inserting the necessary javascript into your posts or pages. The plugin makes uses of a wordpress quicktag to make the insertion process painless.

Click on these thumbnails and read the captions to review some of the options available when you use the WP-Highslide plugin.

Click and drag the photo to another position on your desktop. You can open and move several photos using the WP-Highslide plugin.

Use the graphic in the bottom right hand corner to enlarge the photo to its original size.

WP-Highslide image display settings can be easily adjusted through the WP Dashboard Options.

You can also use other image tags with the WP-Highslide plugin. For these two photos, I used the 'img-align right' tag.

Use the 'close' button to return to the thumbnail view.

Click and drag the thumbnail to another position on your desktop.

Use the “previous/next” buttons on the bottom left corner to scroll through pictures.

For very large originals, an “enlarge graphic” appears on the bottom right hand of the clicked thumbnail.

Captions can be added and changed right in your post.

For users looking to customize highslide, this plugin gives you the flexibility of editing the javascript object settings, setting global options through the options page, or overriding the global options for individual images, all without having dig through the plugin code.

The newest updates allow you to toggle the caption box, close window link, and next and previous links through global settings in WP-HIGHSLIDE options page.

The WP-Highslide plugin will be a must have for my blog. Try it out and see how easy it is to insert thumbnails to enlarged photos in your blog.
