Countdown

box 3

I made Advent Calendars for my family this year.

Well, to be precise, they were 25 boxes to represent each day from December 1 to December 25th. (Click on the photo to see a larger view of the boxes.)

Each of my hand made boxes contained candies, sometimes a scratch lottery ticket, and a handwritten quote.

I ripped apart old Christmas things and decorated each box individually.

Sheesh, what a lot of work but I think they were well received.

Now if I had come across Calm Asylum Advent Calendar 2006, I could have avoided all that work.

This on-line Advent Calendar has a different goodie under each day. I especially liked Day 6 with its many Factarooonies like this:

“Believe it or not, you can read this…

I cdnuolt blveiee taht I cluod aulaclty uesdnatnrd waht I was rdgnieg. The phaonmneal pweor of the hmuan mnid aoccdrnig to rscheearch at Cmabrigde Uinervtisy, it deosn’t mttaer in waht oredr the ltteers in a wrod are, the olny iprmoatnt tihng is taht the frist and lsat ltteer be in the rghit pclae. The rset can be a taotl mses and you can sitll raed it wouthit a porbelm Tihs is bcuseae the huamn mnid deos not raed ervey lteter by istlef, but the wrod as a wlohe.

Amazing huh?” The Advent Calendar is HERE.

Wow! that’s some arrangement you got there! I’ll be completely honest, but I would never have had the patience to do that. No, uh-uh, no-way.
