Still making an impression
My friends Irene and Marlowe recently were in Las Vegas on a business trip. The special guest at the windup banquet was none other than Canadian Rich Little.
I thought he’d gone into retirement years ago (or had made Diane’s list of Dead Guys on the Sidebar.) Although when I checked his bio, it did say he was born in Ottawa in 1938 making him just 68 years old .

While Irene and Marlowe are just on the edge of the generation when Rich Little was extremely popular, they said that many of the younger folk in the audience didn’t get some of the jokes. Especially the impressions and/or jokes he trotted out about politicians and entertainers gone long ago.
When I went to his website and saw some recent photos, all I could shriek was “yikes, botox by the bazillions.”
He’s starting to look more and more like his impersonation of Kirk Douglas. I think the dimple in his chin is actually his belly-button from all the work it looks like he’s had done.
