Hear GreenTaRA in Winnipeg

This just in from my friend Tara:
GreenTaRA returns to Winnipeg with her trio.
They’re performing at the Western Canadian Music Awards Festival showcase at the Collective, Saturday, Oct. 21, 2006. The concert starts at 10PM with GreenTaRA showtime at 11PM.
You can hear GreenTaRA’s music HERE.

We were sitting around gabbing last week after Tara had returned from performing in Baltimore and Washington, DC.
I told the gang about my recent shopping expedition with a friend. Long story short: as we were walking and shopping, my friend needed to sit down every so often, usually at a bus stop with seats.
I lifted my eyebrows and said, “ya know, I’m not quite a sit-at-a-bus-stop-kinda guy.” They all laughed in agreement.
Tara topped that little quip with this little anecdote from Baltimore (as best as I can remember what she said):
“I was driving in Baltimore last Saturday afternoon not knowing where I was going at all. I kind of thought I wasn’t in the best part of the city but I had my windows rolled up and the doors locked. I stopped at a right light and casually looked to my left.
There was a typical urban bus stop shelter. Heavy duty three sided structure with a roof and a bench. I couldn’t tell whether the shelter walls were glass as the walls were papered with posters.
Inside there was a guy sitting in a red rocker-recliner with the stuffing bursting out.
He was just sitting there in the recliner comfy as could be while his buddy was busy folding up papers and smacking the bus shelter bench with the rolled up papers in his hand.
I watched the two of them for entire red light. When the light turned green, I gave them a big smile.
Even when a bus shelter is your home, Saturday’s always seem to be the day for cleaning.”
We all guffawed loudly and agreed with Tara’s Saturday cleaning epiphany.

LOL I think they have a second home in Houston. Gonna check out the music in the morning when I’m actually awake. Having trouble sleeping tonight.
