Video in blogs
With all the yadda yadda about YouTube, I started checking out other video posting sites.
Metacafe seems to have similar videos as other sites. It allows you to place a direct link to a video like this human snowball.
Or you can place some embedded code into your post so that your readers can click and view the video like the current number one Metacafe video below.

All of the hype surrounding these video clips doesn’t impress me much. I’d rather find good content in a weblog.
Here’s one example of what I find to be an innovative use of video in a weblog.
Check out Midnight Therapy With Crystal.
It might be a bit time consuming because each video clip has to be loaded separately. It cuts down on page load time but it’s well worth the effort just to see how off the wall Crystal is at the moment.
This is what life does to you had me howling.

I much prefer linking to the video. I’ve made a couple and it seems the best way to go. I had an embed code that was fairly easy but it DOES slow load time down quite a bit and then some people don’t have the correct plugins to see them so I’m all for a link.

yeah, i noticed that too. i tried video egg and the load time was too long. i figure, if it’s not broke, don’t fix it.

it’s part of that fast-paced-world syndrome — if it’s not immediate, people won’t wait — I guess my point is look what they are missing if they don’t take the time or the effort to watch good stuff like Crystal’s.
