Sometimes a wall is just a wall

My sister-friend Brenda is going to bean me upside the head for posting this entry.

She who can sing all the wrong lyrics to any popular song and make you think she knows the actual lyrics. She who clued into the fact much later in life that the major intersections in Regina are “Victoria” and “Albert” streets. She who like her brother “knows a little bit about many things and not a lot about anything.”

My niece and her husband who live in Hong Kong, recently went for a little jaunt to China. Of course, the e-mail holiday photos show my niece and her husband posing along the same stretch of the Great Wall seen in countless tourist photos.

Apparently, on first glance at the photos in the e-mail, sister-friend Brenda casually inquired of a workmate, “what’s that stone thing they’re standing on.”

This would be a serious question from sister-friend, let me tell you.

So this photo is for you my dearest sister-friend. Now that you know there is a Great Wall in China — guess what? You were there too just like millions of other tourists.

Hope you enjoyed your climb up those steps and your walk along the Great Wall. It must be true because there you are!
