Sister-friend Brenda and I were laughing at our singing abilities the last time we yapped on the phone.
Somehow it was related to Tracey Bell’s fantastic recreations of famous celebrities like her impersonation of Celine Dion in this photo.
We agreed that Brenda would make a good Bobbie Gentry look-a-like.
We both started humming the words to Ode to Billie Joe – but neither of us knew the words or the melody.
We did remember though that Bobbie Jo McAllister jumped off the Tallahasee Bridge. It was one of those “hmmm, hmmmm, hmmmm, and …jumped off the Tallahasee Bridge” sort of renditions.
We laughed until we almost peed ourselves.
From there came a quick search for Bobbie Gentry which lead me to the The Worst Songs of all Time!
