Now this is a real Time Capsule Moment. I still have this leather bookmark from our family’s one and only “real” vacation we took in about 1968.

My Mom and Dad, my sister Brenda and I crammed into my father’s tiny beater and drove all the way to Thunder Bay
to Kakabaka Falls  to visit my Aunt Dorothy, Uncle Fred and their brood of seven girls and one boy.

Where’s Kakabaka Falls?

Located in southwest Ontario, Canada, on Thunder Bay, an inlet on the northwest shore of Lake Superior, Kakabaka Falls is clease to the major port and industrial centers of Port Arthur and Fort William. In 1970 the two twin cities were amalgamated into the city of Thunder Bay, Ontario (population 113,946).

I remember the drive being hot and long. I was constipated for the 10 days we were gone. We must have driven all the way there as I have no recollection of staying at any motels either there or back.

I do remember my seven female cousins and having a wonderful time with them.
