Parallel poll runs to find the Most Famous Canadian
The Greatest Canadian (it’s not a contest nor is it a scientific poll but rather a Canadian “people’s choice award”) is taking Canada by storm!
Oh, did I get that wrong? Now I remember. The CBC has put it together and maybe I slept through Wendy Mesley’s stirring opening show.
Canadian Headhunter is polling his blog readers for the most FAMOUS Canadian. Someone who might be recognized south of the border or even across the pond.
I’m still voting for Tommy Douglas. He might not be a household name even in Canada but hey, through his lineage comes Keifer Sutherland via mother Shirley Douglas and father Donald Sutherland.
So all in all, you’ve got famous movie stars, medicare, and socialism made respectable (remember the CCF?). What more could you want to describe fame?
